I was giddy to see the 'Hawks make it---for the one reason that really matters in choosing a team to back: their uniforms. Since I was a wee tot, I loved the unison of my totally fave colors, blue and green, in anything, and especially on the helmets of big men running around. I've been less enamored since they've updated their colors into that sort of steely silver-blue business, but the tribal Seahawk is still very boss.

It is not wrong to go to church strictly for the food. When I was a young lad I used to go to church in order to get free wine (yes, I am a Catholic). It is all good.

I enjoyed your thoughts about Holmgren and religion... I think (which is painful these days), that it is refreshing to see someone believe enough in another to allow them the time and space to finally craft their moment. Holgren should have focused more on coaching and less on trying to run the enitre show. With that said, he's brought us wine/food/football geeks to the promised land... and as for religion; I'm a recovering catholic. Peace!

I'm still here in Seattle where it was Seahawks fever all the way. Drove past a kitchen store with a sign outside that said: "Update your cabinets with flair Go Seahwaks". WTF? Sounds like Mexico is OK.
