Malt Beverage good, malt liquor better

Pony Malt Beverage
Gorging on tortas at the local El Salvadorian bakery, noticed this label and had to try it. It’s weird, non-alcoholic, and I have no frame of reference for its taste.

Think along the lines of a winter ale, brewed with lots of malt. Cross breed it with unsugared root beer, and you come pretty close. It also tastes a bit like licking a barley & yeast starter. A strange, medicine-y and graham cracker after taste.

I think I’d like it better if it were beer.

Yeah! A drawering! You haven’t done a drawering in forever. Your description of that freaked out beverage is accurate. Maybe I’ve been baking for too long. But whay would anyone want to drink something that tastes like a yeast infection!!??!!
