KUOW’s Weekday, Steve Scher, and little old me

So, I’ll be a guest on KUOW’s Weekday with Steve Scher this Thursday, along with the Weekly’s Jonathan Kauffman, talking about taco trucks in the 10am to 11 am hour. This is a super happy fun day for me, as I am a complete NPR nerd, and I listen to the program religiously (I loves me the Vaughn Palmer). I am also a taco truck freak and consider access to good carnitas an inalienable right.

Congrats! “La Carreta” is my favorite truck, parked in the lot of a 76 station in Shoreline (east side of the street,on Aurora) These trucks are a great way to get great Mexican, in deprived Seattle.

    so cool! busy, busy, busy…
    ain’t ya?
but if i hear you on the radio, it will ruin the voice i have in my head, or not

  3. Dennis Says:

the best taco trucks in the USA are in L.A.,the ones with a live cook onboard. Breakfast burittos to die for…

  4. Dan Cochran Says:

“Taco trucks”? What a concept - never saw one here in PA. The best you get here are old-fashioned “roach coaches” with the usual east-coast fare (burgers, dogs-and-kraut).

I love Steve Scher. I’ve already got this in my iTunes. I listen at work or on lunch. Can’t wait to get a few tips!

  6. mari Says:

I like your NPR voice. I was waiting for you to swear. (wink)

  7. Art Says:

You didn’t sound as surly, dissonant, offensive or as young as I thought you were. Maybe that’s a good thing . . .

  8. Roger Livingston Says:

Enjoyed your taco truck bit on KUOW. Would like to hire a truck to do party this summer. Do you have two or three suggestions. Thanks

  9. Maggie Says:

mari - you and my mother

Art - uh…thanks? just had a b-day so that young part stings a little

Roger - hmm…you got me there… maybe visit Del Rio Taqueria in White Center and talk catering? You could by a bus load of tamales from the Mexican grocery in the Pike Place Market…

  10. Art Says:

I take that back . . . well, not the “young” part. You used the words “piss” and “turd” (or variants thereof) in the same Weekly column, so I guess you’re just as offensive as ever. (I’m not complaining, though!)
