Amaro=My Favorite Word, Flavor, State of Mind
Sounds like love, but actually translates to “bitter.” As in, I am bitter I couldn’t talk about all of my favorite bitter liqueurs in my column this week. Why? They are not available in my nanny state, and that makes me un piccolo amaro.

Awesome, awesome article. Everyone’s gone crazy for aperitifs lately at my bar. Although Fernet wasa fad for a while. Tahnks for helping us sell the darker side of bitter.

Have you ever had Unicum? It’s a beg for mercy bitter as I was recently reminded while in Germany where the diet of sausages and potatoes make the digestivo an especially beautiful thing!
