Klebeckian Design, Now Available With Booze

THe downtown Top Pot Doughnuts is my favorite place in the city. No restaurant comes close to the design triumph and impact of it. Take that local designers! J’accuse! Yeah, I wanna fight. Actually, I just want people to design something that doesn’t look like 1994 or a fucking IKEA catalog threw up. Seattle has a loooong way to go until it reaches design maturity; we’re in that awkward, developer-driven, suburban cookie-cutter, condos like bad acne, puberty phase (two buildings by Rem and Frank aside).

What, was I…. Sorry, modern design is another one of my wonky passions. Anyways, Mark and Michael Klebeck designed many beautiful cafes in our fair city, including every single Top Pot, and this place:

Sun Liquor Feels Like Home
in this issue of the Seattle Weekly

A bar where walking in always makes me feel like a kid, coming inside for dinner after a long day playing out in the sun. Try it, you’ll see.

Fucking love Sun Liquor. AND love Top Pot… both the donuts and the amazing design.

Sun Liquor is the best bar in Seattle. A treasure.
