A Techie Foray To Keep The Doctor Away

The End of Medicine: How Silicon Valley (and Naked Mice) Will Reboot Your Doctor by Andy Kessler
This is a trippy book. Also happens to be written by my ((boston accent)) wicked smaht ((/boston accent)) uncle who has the ability to see things from an unemotional, technical, macro-lens. Sometimes his views can be scary, scary cuz they’re true. This book explores the idea of putting techies in charge of solving our high costs of health care (which now focuses on treatment) by solving problems in the world of early detection or preventative medicine. It’s a double, no-duh, dog dare for the health care industry.

I just saw this book today, strange. No I have to buy it. It makes total sense. Why focus on cancer treatment when you can detect tumors in their infancy? My mom just got lucky and dodged a bullet. But if we had better imaging, many women could.
