Beaujolais Nouveau a No Go, Chinese Fake Cigarettes


Drouhin recalls all Beaujolais Nouveau in Washington. Try the 2006 Beaujolais Villages. Should be around $8-10 and has an earthy, strawberry jam flavor–without a hint of tin can. (Really cheap Beaujolais and Beaujolais Nouveau always tastes like fruit out of a tin can to me, sorry.)

Le Sigh, there’s an update from Joseph Drouhin if you click the above link. Apparently, they determined some markets are not effected. Contact your distributor for details. But Seattle? You ain’t gettin’ any. It’s too late anyway, if you tried to ship me my B.N. now, I’d laugh. And if I were a distributor, I’d be pissed if they cleared it for sale now.

And we can call it the natural deselection of douchebags.

    Maybe if you tried a little Nouveau made without the B71 yeast, and chaptalization, you might just find a “tin-free” Beaujolais. While I’m a man of means, and can afford the Grand Cru stuff, I’m more than happy to dringk at the regional level when…
