Maggie Savarino! A late night google of 20-years-ago West Aurora friends pays off!

It's way more worthy than when he rolled the ATV. You've grown up into a wonderful writer.

Sorry I'm late on this comment, but as frazzled as I am about this whole lotta Hezbollah going on, I LOVE the image of Tony hunched over a whiskey in a Beruit bar, journaling about the paths his career has taken him. And I'm sure he loves that image, too.

And I love that he loves it. And I'm happy for any romantic respite from this fucked up shite.

I wouldn't mind being stranded in a Beirut hotel room with Anthony Bourdain. Seriously, though, it's too bad they're not getting a show out of this, because Lebanese cuisine rules and I'd love to see Mr. Bourdain get down with some raw kibbeh and Arak, but definitely not with bombs exploding in the background.

Love your blog!

OK, you know we pretty much worship the guy. I've never heard NPR in the kitchen before. But today is the day we suddenly all care about the Isreali-Palestinian crisis. Being don't-give-a-fuck line cooks, we're all wondering why Lebanon just doesn't kick Hezbollah out. Seems pretty simple.

I had to look Don DeLillo up. Then that got funnier. I imagine you as a female Anthony Bourdain, with a little Dennis Miller thrown in. Except you're never annoying like they are. Thanks for that. I could totally see a network trying to get him to weigh in. But I'm sure they already have their own correspondants, who know much more about the crisis.
